GORUCK Constellation

Here’s the latest intel on GORUCK’s newest offering, Constellation. After several test Constellation has finally come out of BETA and has at least 8 cities scheduled for 2017 (update: looks like there are now 24 cities on the list).

GORUCK describes Constellation like this:

GORUCK Constellation is a scenario-driven event led by GORUCK’s Special Forces Cadre, all experts in urban survival. You and your small cell will move through a series of tasks and checkpoints–the stars that form the constellations in the urban terrain. You’ll learn how to prepare and plan for chaos and how to connect the dots of your city, on the move. The goal, of course, is to sharpen your mind into the greatest weapon you have.

By all reports, the BETA versions were pretty sweet. Unlike more GORUCK events, you aren’t carrying extra weight or getting PT beat-downs. And, to the best of my limited knowledge, there are no logs. The emphasis is on urban survival when the poop hits the fan.

While we don’t have much to go on outside of what the site provides, I am hoping that I can arrange my schedule and finances to catch the DC Constellation event and post an AAR on the site.

What looks even sweeter is that there appears to be a Constellation “Heavy” that is only available to those who have completed a “normal” Constellation. Now THAT sounds fun!

Since you won’t be carrying bricks or ruck plates, here is the most recent packing list for Constellation to get your mind going on what might happen:

What to Bring:

Required Items:

Recommended Items:

Small Multi-tool/Knife is recommended, but if you’re flying to your event, don’t buy one, you can make do without. Also bring any other survival material (including first aid kits) you can carry and want us to advise you on before, during, and after the event.

You will be given a map of your area of operations at the start of the event. It will look a lot different at the end.

So, who is going to be hitting this up? Drop a comment and let us know.

    1. Time and money is all I need… that and an assistant coach to cover my soccer coaching duties that weekend. I’m sure you guys will have a great AAR as well. Should be a great experience.

  1. Saw the link on Go Ruck twitter site. This event looks really cool. Hoping to participate in the Chicago Event.

  2. Was figuring out how to save the money for this and then they get 2 FADs in town also.
Wonder how much I can make mowing lawns or something LOL.
