Best Pants for GORUCK

While not an explicit rule of GORUCK, it is a general courtesy to wear pants to your event. So, what are the best pants to wear? I have my own opinion, but I thought it would be good to ask our readers.

In Early 2017 we posted our first annual “Best of Rucking” survey and asked what the best Summer and Winter Pants are for rucking. Here’s what they said.

#1 Summer: Ranger Panties Winter: GORUCK

Sky’s Out, Thighs Out was the battle cry of our voters when it came to summer pants. But, when the weather turns cold it is time to reach for the GORUCK Challange or Simple pants. On both points, I’ll have to agree with the readers. RP’s keep you cool while looking cool and the Simple pants are the best pants on the plant. So, go buy pants!

Stay warm by being cool!

#2 Summer: GORUCK Winter: 5.11

If you’re not going to share your glorious legs with the rest of your team, our reader recommend picking up a pair of GORUCK Simple or Challange pants for your Summer event. These miracle works somehow manage to keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Plus, you’ll get the added advantage of not getting your legs torn up when you’re doing lord-knows-what all over the ground.

If it is winter and you want the second best pants for GORUCK, readers say you should check out 5.11’s offerings.

Cold out? Try 5.11 Pants.

#3 Summer: REI Winter: Eddie Bauer Travex

Bringing up the rear in voting, with barely enough votes to register on the results, were REI pants for Summer and Eddie Bauer Travex for winter.  Unfortunately, readers didn’t specify any type of REI pants… so I guess jut go to REI and say, “I need pants” and you’ll be good to go.

So, what do you think? Agree or Disagree? Why do you love your pants? Sound off in the comment section below!
